We sometimes need a road map in life for the many different avenues we explore and this is even more relevant when cooking. In order to produce good + good for you food at home, you need great ingredients and a well-stocked pantry, refrigerator and freezer.
You can begin with the basics and then curate however you want, adding new ingredients as you grow your culinary repertoire. Once you decide on your favorite flavors, you can add them to the mix and then they are always be within reach whenever the craving strikes.
Because this list is based on my personal tastes, feel free to edit this down or amp it up, but it is comprehensive enough so you will feel confident to get in the kitchen and do a major spring cleaning of your pantry, refrigerator and freezer which will inspire you to whip up a few new recipes.
Imagine only needing a few minor ingredients to pull off a recipe or two or three? It’s possible and an abundant, healthy pantry really works to make cooking a joy.
Two assumptions before we move on, which are not identified on the list because it is just my normal now–I buy organic and low sodium whenever possible and encourage you to do the same.
Feel free to download and print this list so you can tackle this project over time and make notes, edits and other ideas as you go.
Once you remove the unwelcome ingredients and replace them with better choices, I invite you to comment below and let me know what essential ingredients you now can’t live without.
